Dan and Phil are hiding things from each other, something friends should never do to have a healthy platonic relationship.

Dan has been suffering with his feelings in the years he's met Phil. It seemed like a simple crush at first, something that could blow over as easily as a house of cards. But, it's not that simple. Because, when is it ever? But he thinks the feelings have dissipated, been banished from existence. He's ready to move on and get out there in the world.

Phil has been keeping secrets from Dan for as long as he can remember knowing him. He doesn't mean to, really, the lies just built up over time. But eventually, everything will change. The lies that Phil has worked hard to hide will be revealed, once and for all.

And everything started on the Fourth of July.

So this story is a semi-sequel to my Ianthony story, Love Me Like You Do. It is not a necessity to read that story first if you don't want to, but it does explain a lot.

A Maybank and A Cameron? It's almost like a modern Romeo and Juliet. It's forbidden for them to be together. Could be the end of the world. The stolen glances, the hidden feelings, the unspoken words, the secret meetings and the obvious hatred towards each other followed by constant conflicts and some hidden past that threatened them but there are always invisible strings tied and pulling them together no matter how hard the tides trying to pull and part them away from each other.
