It's strange how the human race has evolved to be so different, Dan mused one day. It's strange how everyone is so similar, yet so different. It's strange that everyone is the same, yet they are polar opposites. Some people are the bitter winter air, while others are a warm summer breeze. Some people are the sound of leaves crunching under your weight, others are the whisper of the breeze behind a wind chime. Some people are the few seconds of ignorant bliss when you first wake up. Some people are the drop in your stomach after hearing bad news. Some people taste like syrup and leave you craving more. Some people smell like sweat and coffee and make your head spin. Some people are golden like the sunlight, others are like the colour of the sky just before the sunrise. Some people are like a loaded gun, others are like the ocean. Some people are the stars, others are the moon. Some people are the sun, and others are the rain. But Dan could never figure out just what she was.
