This story is about a little 8 year old jewish girl named Maya. She got bullied a lot at school because of her skin colour but no one knew that she was actually suffering from blood cancer. Everything starts on September 1st 1939. During the night, she woke up to a bell. Clueless about this, she didn't realize it was the bell that rings every time there's a bomb near. Since she was too young to know about all these weapon, she always thought of something silly instead until she got shot. Then she realized what was actually going on. Obviously if she was shot in her house it means someone was in it with a gun! Is it a German police officer that came to get to kill them? Why is her dad acting suspicious? And why did her mom disappear? Read the story to know :)

In September 2000 events in Israel had a big effect on my life. For the next few years Israel was targeted by scores of Palestinian suicide bombers who detonated deadly suicide belts packed with not only explosives but also schrapnel. There was no way of knowing when the next one would strike, be it on buses, cafes, restaurants or wherever crowds of people congretated. On June 1st a bomb struck a crowd of youngsters outside a disco in Tel Aviv. One young girl who lay injured told the paramedic "we shall not stop dancing". For some reason I still remembered those brave words years later. It was then that I decided to write a book about a fictional bombing in Tel Aviv. One of the biggest reasons for this was not generated by any political belief but to specifically show that despite everything that was thrown at them Israelis simply carried on living their lives. The book title comes from the brave words of the injured young girl. It will take you through just another regular day of 12 very different people, most of them unaware that it will be their last day.Complete
