What if your entire life was an experiment?

As a revolutionary medical movement initiated with the hopes of one day "filling" coma patients in on the events and changes they missed in the lives of their loved ones while comatose, a group of scientists conduct an experiment based on the studies of both out-of-body experiences and lucid dreaming. They create a dream world in which their test subjects can live throughout an entire lifetime as though it were real, forgetting the life they lived before and awakening only when they die. But as more and more people awaken, it quickly comes to light that the subjects have no memory of the dream, or the entire life they lived within it. Troubled by this turn of events, the scientists decide to terminate the experiment until they can figure out a way to keep their subjects from forgetting anything that happened in both reality and fantasy.

But there is one problem: Marina Dawtrie can only remember the fantasy.

Everyone believes something has gone terribly wrong with the experiment, but Marina is convinced that the dream is her reality and that reality is nothing more than a dream. Then she comes to learn that there is one other person who only remembers the dream.

And he is the last person she ever thought she’d have to ban together with.
