After coming home to see his parents, bad things start to happen. During the night, Ryan wakes up to a crash. Deciding to investigate, Ryan finds out that his parents and little sister have been murdered. Soon, the killers realize he's there, too. They tortured him and beat him senseless.
Running away from the killers, Ryan runs to a small town, in Washington. By now, his clothes have been torn, numb to any emotions, and used to the blood that had been dropping off him.
The many emotions finally break him. Ryan loses all memory of his personal life, numb to any emotion, and can't speak.
He realizes it's all over until he's saved by her.
