Mermaids, beaches, fairies! this place is awesome. someone then snatched the book out my hands. "Mermaids? what is this crap?" I looked up to see Cynthia and her clique. "why do you carry this thing around with you all the time?" I stood up and held out my hand. "give it back." "why? it's not like you can read it, you're stupid." Her words didn't mean anything to me but those words are going to come back to me tonight and punch me in the face. "How old are you? aren't you like 16 and reading this children's book?" My name is Alexis, though my last name differs everywhere I decide to travel. Currently, I'm in New York and my last name is Williams, very common and wouldn't arouse suspicion. I've been hunted for more than five centuries but those hunters could never really hurt me. Not in the way they wanted to. They've killed my family, my friends, anybody I decide to let near me. They were experienced assassins. So I ran. I didn't allow anyone near me, I kept to myself. But I ran. I've been to just about every inch of the world and still couldn't find a place to settle down. Until I met her. Mia Sanchez. The girl was a walking chew toy for the hunters, but she was persistent and located my soft spot.
