Every classroom has a system, a way of separating those who are academically challenged and those who are not. A way of protecting the teachers pets from the teachers pests and vice versa. Nerds in the front, assholes in the back. It's the way it's always been, the natural arrangement.
I, Layla Andrews am neither, yet. Having just moved here to Whitewater Grove, my main job is to observe and take note of how others act, because at some point we have to choose a side. It's like some kind of unwritten law or something. It's not like a turf war or anything, if that's what your thinking. Its more of a brains versus brawns type thing. Totally innocent, but totally serious.
By the time you start high school here, most have chosen, but I have a disadvantage. So far, I've chosen to hang out and watch from afar with my two, welcoming best friends, Delaney and Brandon.
