Two millennia ago, the gates of the underworld were opened. Demonic beings who thirst for human blood roamed the earth and wreaked havoc on humanity infecting them into blood thirsty undead beasts.
The world was thrown into chaos and humans were at the brink of extinction. Malachi, an angel sent to protect mankind did all he can to drive the demons back to the underworld with the help of the humans. In the end, he failed to drive the beasts and sacrificed himself, transferring his powers into four powerful stones. The four humans who led the survivors of the onslaught used the power of the stones and in one final battle drove most of the demons back to the underworld and freed the souls of the infected humans. This was known in history as the Great Blood War. When the war was over, the humans, keeping a part of the power within them hid the stones with their magic, only to be opened when humanity has need of them again.
In 2015, the written history of the demons and the war were lost in time. At this modern age, humanity have discovered a technological breakthrough. They invented the first machine capable of travelling to a different realm. This turned out to be their biggest mistake as it opened a portal to a time before the Great Blood War and where demons roam the earth freely. Before they could understand what was happening, demons have gone through and history will repeat itself leading to the complete extinction of the human race. 
Four unlikely survivors must uncover their true bloodline and will travel back through time to stop the demons and lead humanity in their fight for survival.

In an alternative version of Earth, humanity's been close to decimated by two large calamities, separate in time, with the span of a hundred years between them. Much was lost, other than lives, but much was also gained. Resources, civilisation, techonlogy, all these dwindled to near-nothing, but on advent of the First Calamity, magic came. And the few who could hold it in their hands, soon learnt how they could use it to their gain - and to help the fate of mankind. Or so they said. With great power comes great responsibility, but also greed and ambition. Now that nature had been conquered by the magical powers of those who carried that trait, they started looking elsewhere. Sickness, diseases, ailments big or small, these could all be eradicated. Given time, even death could be conquered, and immortality claimed! Unable to realise they were about to release a Second Calamity upon the world, those powerful scholars pursued their goals, with no regard for the consequences. And these were worst than they could have imagined - for the dead started raising from their graves and preying on the living. Some of them were even sentient. Years into the advent of the Second Calamity, mankind has devised ways of protecting those without powers, by use of the ones imbued with magic. Under the flag of the Confederation of Nations, hunters, scholars, healers, spellcasters, are trained and brought together in Covenants that fight the undead and make the world safer. But when the lurking creatures start acting out of character and unexpected events begin to take place, can the Confederation still be trusted? Forty years ago, the world ended at the hands of the Monarch of the Abyss, such a being spread it's accursed powers across the world and brought humanity to the brink of extinction. Even a world filled with super powers stood no chance, all hope was not lost however, a light shone brightly as the world's end drew near, slaying this fiend... for now... Even after the death of the Monarch of the Abyss the world is far from stable or safe, what remains of humanity lives inside a singular city, protected by a handful of sworn heroes, monsters lurk outside, remnants of that awful day. Forty years later a new hero appears, bearing a scarily familiar power, he'll endure many burdens in a bid to learn more about himself and those he works with in this corrupt society where heroes are revered as gods among men and all logic is replaced with propaganda. A threat from within their own walls threatens to tear humanity apart from the shadows, the heroes will need to overcome both the monsters beyond their walls and threats from their own people in order to prevail, humanity's fate will soon be at hand, will it be salvation or oblivion?
