After two hundred years of isolation, the colonists of Capicua, a fertile super-earth orbiting Gliese 667C, are suddenly faced with an unknown and hostile military force.

Oblivious to the impending invasion, Toni Miura joins Capicua's decrepit armed forces in a bid to escape domestic troubles, aiming for the privilege of driving the Hammerhead, a bipedal mobile suit which is the epitome of his planet's ailing warrior spirit.

With the arrival of the earthborn invaders, Toni's unqualified platoon, brimming with misfits and plagued by internal differences, is suddenly thrown into the midst of battle. Abandoned by their seniors in the course of their mission, Toni and the remnants of his unit become lost in a world which, owing to the nature of its orbit, suffers periodically from planet-wide hurricane conditions.

So begins a race against time, where a handful of cadets will be forced to outmaneuver a pursuing enemy in the boondocks of a turbulent planet, all the while seeking to deliver an odd but important Bavarian prisoner-of-war to their headquarters.

❖ Interstellar pilot and ex-adventurer Alex Gallegos must keep their team safe on an icy moon as sentient storms threaten to repeat the tragedy that ended their last career. ❖ Everyone in the United Inhabited Solar Systems (for some reason, UIS for short) knows to stay away from Mahaha. The icy moon is notorious for failed probe landings and research missions that end in tragedy: the only people to ever venture to its surface needed rescuing after just two weeks. When a prestigious research group decides they want a turn, they ask Alex Gallegos to lead the team. Perfectly qualified and haunted by their past, Alex accepts, hoping to make up for old mistakes and get just a little further from the earth they've left behind. Two months into the seven-month mission, the team is struggling with discontent, damaged equipment, and blizzards acting less and less like normal weather. As Mahaha moves out of range of help and the storms take on a more malicious character, Alex must face the one foe they could never have prepared for. Mahaha may or may not be alive. ❖❖❖ Complete. Wattys 2021 Shortlister. Standalone sequel (Rocks Can Dance) coming in 2023. Comments and critiques are both welcome and appreciated. I write characters from many different backgrounds, with many different experiences. If you share those traits and find that I have misrepresented anything, please let me know! I am feedback-friendly and here to learn :)
Adventures of General Fluffybutt ni Belerophone

The Universe May Think You're a Joke. Prove It Wrong. They call the pilot "Chief Warrant Officer Pilot First Class Fluffybutt" and at 82 centimeters of genetically engineered "pocket-sapien," the moniker is a constant, irritating reminder that Command sees them as a mascot. They don't care. Fluffybutt only needs to fit into the cramped, high-G cockpit of the Overcompensator, a four-hundred-ton walking insult to reasonable engineering that carries enough weaponry to start a new religion. When the ruthless Combine forces descend on the colony of Juniper's Folly, civilian evacuation is the only play. Fluffybutt and their mech's AI, Mora, are assigned the impossible job: rearguard. The plan is simple: buy time. With the colony's fragile "Tin Finch" convoy trying to lift, the pilot must stand in a canyon pass and later bolt their entire mech to the hull of a transport as a fixed gun platform. They'll face down Shrike walkers, heavy infantry pods, and a charging Combine heavy cruiser, the Razorbus, by leaning on extreme measures-from surgical precision shots (Undercompensator Mode) to the all-out chaos of the eponymous Overcompensator Mode. From ground battle to desperate orbital defense, Fluffybutt must not only survive but also keep the convoy-and their own sanity-intact, even if it means resorting to manual repairs during combat, whispering heat-spirals with a Sermon-laser, and defending the line with a weapon system affectionately known as the "Gratitude Cannons". This is the story of a soldier who was built to be underestimated and chooses instead to be effective. The line must hold, the ships must escape, and the most ridiculous name in the regiment must become the last thing the enemy ever hears.

The story is set on post-apocalyptic Earth. A hundred years ago, the "X virus" broke out. Transmitted through liquids and gases, it had an extremely high mortality rate and quickly infected nearly all life on Earth. The human population plummeted from 7 billion to 3 billion, but those who survived discovered their bodies evolving, becoming faster, taller, and stronger. Tragically, animals also began to evolve, becoming even more powerful than humans. Bullets couldn't penetrate their armor, and even nuclear bombs couldn't threaten high-level monsters. With modern technology practically useless, warriors rose to prominence. Through training, these warriors mastered immense powers, allowing them to battle monsters tens or even hundreds of feet tall. Humanity lost all its oceans and islands, including Australia. Ultimately, only five nations remained: these five great powers formed humanity's 23 base cities. Decades passed, and it wasn't until the rise of the protagonist, Zorro, that the balance between humanity and monsters was finally broken.
