"Goldmine" is the third book in the AFL series, drawing readers into a poignant and thought-provoking journey. Meeting a celebrity crush-a dream so many hold close to their hearts-becomes a reality. Yet, the old adage warns: don't meet your heroes, for disappointment often follows. In this tale, the encounter is more than just a meeting; it's an exploration of admiration, expectation, and the stark contrast between fantasy and reality. Read my story and decide for yourself if meeting your idol is worth the risk of shattering the illusion, or if some dreams are best left untouched, glittering from afar.

Early as a teenager, Madison dreamed of losing her virginity. Losing your virginity has a certain art to it. To her, it meant you got to know your partner better than they knew themselves. It has a certain intimate touch to it. The idea of giving yourself to someone you love is something many people want. But sometimes you don't get a choice. As she got closer to finishing high school, Madison was robbed of her innocence. After that, she struggled to be normal. How could you just go back after something like that? Growing up in Flint, Michigan was hard enough but after this, she found herself slipping into the darkness of the city. After dropping out of high school, Madison was left to take care of her struggling family. She often resorted to party on the weekends because she enjoys the numbness. That is until one night she is accused of a crime that she didn't commit. While she tries to do everything in her power to stay out of jail, she meets someone new. She tries to stay away but she can't help it - he's just so enticing. It isn't long before she's putty in his hands but when she learns something new about him, she pushes him away. Will she ever get the chance to be normal? {The first 5 chapters are published on Wattpad as a preview. The story is 100% complete & published on another platform (more info in my bio). How do you tell your best friend you love them? How do you know they feel the same? How do you stop your heart getting broken in the process? Honestly, in a place, you feel comfortable with the other and just take the risk. You don't unless they are an open book of emotions. Hearts are made to be broken; if it's not by them someone else will break it somehow. This is a situation for two pairs of best friends separated by the decades... In 1950 Corinne goes on a month long trip with her family to the Madison businesses, taking an aching heart with her. Add a slightly secretive father, fainting mother, three brothers with two of them looking to take over the business and a serving girl Elsie, you get a relatively normal posh family. Corinne's childhood friend Callum carries an aching heart while she is away and misses her presence. Him, Corinne and a few others have been clueless about how they have always felt for each other, the others knowing all along. So when the others give him an opportunity, Callum tells Corinne how he feels after a card game threat and a surprise night visit from Corinne. In 2015 being in a military family is hard, which is what Dae and Dustin know first hand. The pair of them have a ridiculous amount of connections, few being known like how Dae's mother served with Dustin's father throughout deployments. Dae had always pushed Dustin away when he wanted to get closer. On the run up to Valentine's day Dustin has a grand plan in which he hopes Dae manages to see how he feels. Presents appear in her locker, her dad gets back from deployment with a companion she was certain was not breathing and then a gift bag which Smoke doesn't react to which makes her suspicious. With your mum being trained as a bomb dog handler that's natural right? Even her dad is in on the plan. Will Dustin leave with the heart he's always wanted or will he get turned away again? Find the answers to these questions in this story!
