THE OLD KAMIKAZE HEADBAND by akinabalu

This story had its beginning during the Pacific War in 1944, in the eastern part of the British North Borneo territory. It was about a young Japanese Kamikaze pilot who was shot down over the abandoned prisoners ' camp in Sandakan. He was to die when his Zero Fighter plane was down by a sniper but he did not. When he regained his consciousness, he found himself wandering among the smothering fires of Sandakan Town. He was rescued and brought him to the medical post where he was treated as suffering from mental breakdown. He was later listed as missing and never to be found again. Twenty years later, two Japanese tourists came to visit an ex-prisoner at the local hospital whom they said had the old Kamikaze Headband since the end of the Pacific War. When the men acquired the Old Kamikaze Headband, they disappeared into the thin air, leaving behind a bottle of clear liquid which cured his ailments. The WAAC turned in the WAC, and Marta is the best mechanic closest to the First Platoon, First Infantry Division. Their stuff basically all is broken since D-Day, an they need it fixed for Operation Cobra. They end up needing another driver and for things to still be fixed, so she gets sucked into their platoon. She was sent to America as a child to escape Hitler's power, and her German accent followed. This causes trouble that no one wants to deal with. (Zussman x OC)

This work is an extended review of The Guns of Normandy by George Blackburn in honour all Canadian soldiers who died in Normandy 75 year ago and those who gave their lives more than 100 years ago in the first world war. It describes the brutal battles with the elite infantry and tank divisions of the German Wehrmacht (arguable the best trained and equipped army in the world) after the Normandy D-Day landings. The British, Canadian and American tanks were totally outclassed by the German Panther and Tiger tanks. The British Sten gun was very unreliable compared to the German MP 40 (Schmeisser) but the speed and response of the British and Canadian artillery was far superior to the German's. The campaign was ultimately decided by Hitler's (the German dictator) strategic errors, the overwhelming allied air superiority and the tactical ingenuity and courageous determination of the allied aircrews, gunners, tankers and infantry. 1971 and the vietnam war wages on. Germany and America join forces to fight and stop the spread of communism. Hans Hoffmen jr was drafted into the war. He and his troops fought until they were called back home emendently. For some reason they were not told why they called back so fast. When they came back a new building popped up. Then they were told to guard the unknown building. Then during one of their guarding hundreds of troops came flooding. They were soldiers wearing a roman like armor and weapons. Then the soldiers under Hoffmen command open fire and wipe out. After the incident the building/gate was badly damaged which caused it to close again before that happened a spy and his family were sent in to study the other side. Now in 2018 Colonel Wolf Hoffmen was in Berlin for an important meeting walking past the building which is now called the great gate. Then it happens all over again... Later he was told to take his forces and go through the gate.
