Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third is the only son of Stoick the Vast, chief of the Hooligan tribe. As his only son, he is next in line for the chiefdom which wouldn't be a problem, if he wasn't a runt.
Viking's believe that a name is what strikes fear into your enemies. Hiccup's obviously doesn't. The name is given to those who won't survive their first winter. Those who don't belong, those who will not be any more than a burden.
Hiccup isn't an exception to this. I mean, sure he survived his first winter, and the next fifteen. But he caused problems, not on purpose. Things just happened when he was around.
First when he was six, and a nearby furnace blew up when he lost his temper.
Then when he was eight, nine, eleven. These strange happenings kept occurring, and nothing he did helped.
Everything he did, everything he tried had some way of turning back on him. For the longest time he believe that the God's cursed him.
But now, now he finds the blessings in the curse.

I really hope you enjoy this fanfic!! It focus' on Hiccup being a bit more than human. I am thinking more like connected to dragons, and Toothless as a whole.
