Aya Hays is just a normal human who gets tricked and taken. She then finds out that the person who took her is her mate's brother. She also finds out that they aren't humans, they aren't fully brothers either.

We spent the rest of the time in an awkward silence. It was starting to get agonizing but then the car pulled up in front of this giant palace style place. It looks really fancy. Why is he bringing me here? I am so confused. Because I figured that he would just drop me off near another place with woods.
Before I could ask out loud what we were doing here out loud, a cloth was placed over my mouth and nose. Within seconds I was out.

“Do you know what he is?” Wolf asked me and he sounded nervous.
“What do you mean?”
“Oh thank God he didn’t tell you.”
I immediately looked up at him with a confused look. “Didn’t tell me what? Please tell me Wolf.” I begged hoping that he would tell me whatever he is hiding.
“Okay. I'm just not sure how to phrase this. Me and Rolf aren’t exactly human.” He said and hesitated before continuing. “We are two different creatures.”
I waited a minute to see if he was going to explain more, but he didn’t so I just shrugged it off. I don’t know what I was expecting him to say. What did he mean by two different creatures? Did he mean something like a vampire, or werewolf, or some shit like that? “Yes he did. To be specific he meant that I am a vampire and he is a hybrid. Which if you didn’t know is a vampire and a werewolf.” Rolf said as he leaned against the door frame.
“Rolf shut up. You are going to scare her away.”
“she doesn’t get scared that easily and also why does it matter if she runs from you or not?” Rolf questioned him and I just sat there waiting for Wolf’s response.
“Well, because she is my mate and I don’t want her to be scared of me.” he said in a really stern voice.

"I did try to ask nicely and multiple times, I might add. The time for being nice has come to an end since it doesn't seem to work with you." He passed by the table and stepped down. There weren't many places for her to hide in here but the creature did tell him Amelia came into this room. "Please come out and talk to me." He waited a beat for a response but he didn't get one. "Fine, let me tell you a story. I used to be able to see the creatures clearly but an accident happened when I was younger that damaged one of my eyes. Now they're just blurry to me. But you . . . you can see them clearly and see rare objects. I want you to join me. Be my eyes." He waited again for a few moments for a response he still didn't receive. A thought occurred to him. What if she was hoping that he'd just leave the room? He chuckled quietly to himself in amusement. "I'm not going anywhere. But you know what? It's fine if you decline my offer again. Just know that if you don't come with me, you could come home to find that your parents are dead because of a work accident or some other natural cause. You wouldn't want that would you?" He paused just one more time and began speaking again. "If you come with me today, your parents won't have to die. I can keep them safe. If you don't give me an answer, I'll have my creature kill your parents now and I'll still take you. Do you want dead parents or living parents? It's your choice." Amelia came out of the bay window seat compartment. She was trying to hide her fear and anger. She didn't care what happened to her but she didn't want her parents to die because of her. She took a deep breath. "Fine . . . I'll come with you." He smiled smugly, "Smart choice. There's no need to be afraid of me. Your parents are safe now and I won't hurt you." "It's because you need me for my abilities." She said more of a fact than a question. She knew he wouldn't kill her because he needed her. "Correct. Playing His Games
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat as he stared across the table at me. I could seriously drown in his eyes. He was intoxicatingly attractive and he had to know it. That's why he was acting strange around me. For some reason, he looked at me as if I was the only one there with him. As if nobody else were here. And his voice... it pained me. It actually pained me with how utterly seductive and husky it always sounded. And the way he smelled all the time. I don't know why he smelled so strong, but I didn't mind. He smelled like evergreens and a hint of mint. It sounds like a bad combo, but it dizzied me with how lost I got in it. The thought of not being able to control myself, my thoughts and feelings and body when I'm around him, infuriated me. I was so good at holding myself together now, and he just unraveled me so easily, leaving me a mess. I wasn't the slightest bit afraid of him, and I had no idea why either. Just being in the same room, I felt like I didn't have to look over my shoulder. I didn't have to worry. I didn't even know who he was, and he still drew me in. "So, you were in California before? Why did you move?" Grace Hatfield asked, looking at him. She is our school's college and career advisor. She took me in and adopted me a couple years ago. She even gave me her last name. A saving grace. Why had she invited him here? Why did he come? He turned to her with a smile and a shrug. "Guess I just hadn't found what I was looking for yet." Something about the way he said it, sent a shiver down my spine. Why did I feel like there was so much more meaning behind his words than he was letting on?
