It had been a year since the Forest Spirit 'died'. Things were going well, until Ashitaka received a telegram that told him to go back to his own village. Something big and great was stirring. He had to protect his village. But, there was a catch. He might die in the process.

Your parents are best friends with his parents and taught both of you how to hunt and become hunters. To provide for the village. So after a few years of training, you both were old enough to go out and hunt by yourselves.
