Jamey Thomson is what you would categories as a four-eyed, emo, weirdo without a life! Truthfully, you're pretty much right. She's currently trying to form a band, with her being the lead vocalist, her friend Trevor as the bassist, and hopefully, Joseph Wolves--her crush--as the drummer. But with a horrible step mother and step sister like hers, her devotion to follow her dreams weakens, slowly, but surely every day, and she fears that one day, she won't have the desire to do anything anymore.
But that will all change once he starts to finally make a move on her. He'll make her see that she is indeed special, that she shouldn't worry too much about wether her family accepts her or not; his didn't and he's completely fine...well, sort of.
Join these two weirdos in their journey to...what exactly? Stardom? Love? College? Where are they going exactly?
