After the tragic death of her mother which sent her into a mild state of depression, Aspen Montgomery is shipped away to live with her older sister, Edith, to hopefully pull out of her dysfunctional state. In the small and soggy town of Grimwater, Colorado, Aspen suspects the only excitement that will be happening during her stay is a weakly visit to her therapist.

But finding herself lost in the forest at midnight, she ends up venturing further into the thick knot of tree's than she had originally planed, rendering her hopeless and at the fateful hands of nature. Mythical creatures such as Werewolves never once appeared in her perfect story book, so imagine her surprise when her knight in shining armor turns out to be a man who can turn into a giant wolf.
