This is a series of AU vignettes in which each member of the Fellowship hears the call of the Ring -- and answers it. My take on the big What-If. Varying degrees of angst, drama, action, and perhaps a little more angst. This series won First Place in the MEFA Awards quite a few years ago now.
This idea brewed in my brain for a long time before I finally got it out of my head and onto 'paper.' It would never have happened without my beta reader, Thundera Tiger, and I can't thank her enough. Without her guidance and encouragement, this story would never have seen the light of day, nor would I have considered posting any of my writing.
There will be one vignette for each Fellowship character, following the prologue. I hope you enjoy!

Forgotten Queen
She had lived a long life. Most of it was spent running from herself and her past, but the past has a strange way of catching up to us. And now, three thousand years after the war was over, the shadow caught up with the world. It began when the lost Ring was once more found. It was time for the free world to make a decision. Word reached her from Imladris calling her back. Against her better judgment she went. Due to the wish of her old friend, she attended the council where the future was to be decided. Even if it cost her everything, she would do what she judges to be right in order to save Arda. Nothing would stand in her way of protecting all those she loved. "One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its black gates are guarded by more than just Orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep and the Great Eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust..." Boromir addresses the council in a quiet voice "The very air you breathe is a poisonous fume. Not with ten thousand men could you do this. It is folly." He ended in a state like manor As I sighed shaking my head at what he said "Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said ? The ring must be destroyed" Legolas said "It is true you cannot just walk into the gates of Mordor but you should not be so naive as to think you alone could destroy the ring" I said as Gimli looked towards me "And I suppose you think you're the one to do it ?" Gimli said cockily "And if we fail,what then ? What happens when Sauron takes back what is his ?" Boromir questioned looking towards Gimli as he leaps to his feet "I will be dead before I see the Ring in the hands of an Elf!" Gimli says looking towards me spitefully. "How dare you speak to me in such a manor dwarf!" I said rage in my voice as the council erupted into a storm of arguments. "Never trust an Elf!" Gimli said towards me as I reach for my arrow but a hand grabs my wrist and I feel warm breath on my ear "I wouldn't" Legolas' voice says against my skin as I look at him our faces inches apart. "Fine" I say through gritted teeth as Legolas lets go of my hand softly and stands by my side.Complete
What Happened Thereafter {A LotR Fanfiction}
After returning to the Shire from their long and life-changing journey, the four famous Hobbits must learn to live again, as they did once before. But it is a difficult thing, to go back to an old life, and the four hobbits soon realize that no matter how hard they try, they will never be the same again. This is What Happened Thereafter. "How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand, there is no going back?" While she keeps the feel that Tolkien gave us in the books as well as stays true to the ending that he originally wrote, she adds her own twist and voice with the addition of her four female hobbits: Daffodil, Ivy, Nettle, and Thorn. Each girl is so different from the next, complete with their own lovable quirks and characteristics that makes the reader adore them instantly for who they are as individuals as well as a whole. The unity that she presents between the characters is so unbreakable and true that I literally feel like I'm melting with adoration as I'm reading.The writing is fantastic and the story-line enjoyable. Every time I see that she's updated, I squeal and smile and read it immediately because I cannot wait to see what she has to give her readers next. I find myself sucked into it, and when it's over, I'm dying for more, more, more! It is a brilliant, adorable, enchanting story that I would recommend for any Tolkienite/Ringer. Nothing is Forever ~ Legolas/LOTR
Agardess made the name for herself as Middle-Earth's greatest assassin. She was cold hearted and quiet, never one for saying anything. She was never one for fate and always decided for herself when it was time for change. And so she chose when she was to die. However on her march to death she finds herself trapped in a adventure for dwarves and attracting the attention of the prince. Agardess finds her fate falling from under her and in order to save her own life she pledges allegiance to the prince. She began to follow him everywhere, never speaking, just ensuring the safety of the prince. This earned her the nickname "Shadow". She felt no loyalty to the King of Mirkwood, only to the prince whom she insisted on calling my Lord. Although she no longer felt the wish to die, she found herself following the prince everywhere causing her to get brought into messes she wouldn't of been able to get into on her own. She was proud to say the Fellowship was one of them. However on the journey she finds herself becoming someone different, someone who smiles and laughs and cries. And a person who once thought they could not love, learns how, with a little help from a certain elf.Complete
