I glared at him, "Whatever. I can protect myself or die trying."

"What if it's worse than death? You'll need us to save you."

If I have to count how many times I've saved his life compared to how many times I've wanted to kill him... Killing him seems to be a much much MUCH better option. "Crystal, what's wrong, you seem so quiet now? Did you hear what I asked about you coming to mainlands to train humans to save the world? You don't have to but you kinda know how I am, I'll drag you with me." Jakes annoying voice broke my thoughts. "You are such an idiotic moron, you know that I have super strength, super senses, super speed, super co-ordinanation, and I have claws, wings, a tail, fangs and I can shape shift in a wolf or tiger! You are a weak, stupid human being, so I'd like to see you try" I answered with a rased voice and glowing blue eyes full of rage.

WARNING: CONTAINING AMOUNTS OF SASS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND In the city of NYC--- Ok. Hold up. First of all, New York City. What, are ya gonna assume everyone here knows what NYC is? Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.

Meanwhile, Vinicus Cauldwell enjoys the power he has as Murkbourne's most feared super-villain. For once, he can sit back and relax without being pestered by the police. That is, until Max arrives. Vinicus isn't happy about having to fight a child, but he can't let Max find out. After all, super-villains can't be "good people"... Can they? We can't all be born heroes. But most of us are Heroes at Heart. (Based on a writing prompt / story request by tumblr user "fallingivy")

Arabella Jones is your average American teenage girl, she even lives in one if America's most prosperous cities, Empire City, California. She's a sucker for the performing arts and owns two bookcases full of young adult novels. Well maybe she's not so much like your average American teenager. Everything in Arabella's life seems to be finally going perfect, right up until the city's most famous superhero come barging through her widow at two in the morning on a school night. All she used to have to worry about was what part she was going to get in the musical and if the boy she's been crushing on since freshman year likes her back or not. But these worries are nothing compared to her newfound super stalkers. Now it seems that the city's only hope, and her's, is a teenage boy dressed in spandex who still hasn't learned not to wear his underwear on the outside of his clothes.

You're supposed to be a superhero, so why are you threatening a fellow superhero? Isn't that kind of against our code or whatever?" "You don't have a code. Superheroes who follow codes don't drop off information about people's allegedly dead sons at their doorsteps and then run." Well, can't say she doesn't have a point there. -- After being framed for the horrific murder of Birchwood City's most revered superhero's six year-old son, Maya Waterman abandons her super-villain persona and finds herself lost without any sense of identity and purpose. Being hunted by a vengeful super is hard enough, but after her employer fires her and she's evicted from her apartment, Maya begins to become something she had prayed she would never become again- helpless. She needs nothing less than a miracle to save herself, and much to her surprise, she gets just that-- even if it entails her trying her hand at becoming a good guy for once.

Shortlisted for the Open Novella Contest 2019 • Being a Supervillain is tough. Between managing a secret lair and making sure your mom doesn't stop loving you because you keep telling everyone she's dead, it's a really hard business to be good at? Add to that, the fact that somehow you got arrested because your cat sitter didn't take the day off and then you go around expressing your unconditional love for pancakes in a Super holding cell because technically they can't put you in a proper prison and you don't really have a choice because lawyers are expensive? And then, you realise your best friend is plotting go take over your spot as the greatest villain there ever was? Okay, maybe not the greatest, but you do come pretty close to it! To top it off, there's that one Superhero who's just so completely gorgeous, you couldn't imagine any harm coming to them? Because they're just that precious? I guess that makes me a Supervillain with minor time travel superpowers and a huge crush on a not so powerful Superhero? And all you have to do is protect yourself and everyone you love from your ex best friend/sidekick --because let's face it that's the highest level of praise for a wretched traitor here--and you also have to get out of Super Holding somehow? What could go wrong? Right?

She enjoys watching people suffer. The way the squirm and beg for mercy, it probably turns her on. Though, what happens when she has to save lives, not take them away? It's not saving lives like Superman does, it's way more intense. Did she see that coming? No. Does life care? Not at all. In fact, it's throwing her in front of a bus (literally). One secret demands poor Ava to bend all of her morals, and change herself completely. Forever's going to take longer than expected. Warning: Cursing is frequent.
