"Hunter." It came out as a tiny whisper. I was standing against the wall, trapped in place by Hunter's strong gaze from across the room, and it kind of scared me. He was angry. I could feel the rage emanating from his tense stature.  

The next thing he did surprised me more than anything Hunter had ever done before. He walked forward and kissed me. But, as soon as it began, it was over. 

I wanted to say something, but quickly decided against it once our eyes met. His normally icy blue eyes were swirling with dark blues and blacks and I could still feel the power radiating from him. His wolf was close to the surface.
