Prologue: "You never listen!" He yelled before throwing a plate across the room. I watched as it shattered against the wall. I stood there silently, unsure of what to do. I was used to his drunken rampages, but they never got this bad. A few more plates were thrown before he started walking towards me. I slowly backed up against the wall. A small whimper escaped my mouth once he stood in front of me. "Why do you do this to me?" He hissed, his breath heavy with the stench of alcohol. I silently stared at him. What was there to say? I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. "So what? Now you have nothing to say?" He asked loudly. I slowly shook my head no. He grabbed my wrists and held them tightly. I yelped because of the pain and struggled to free myself from his grasp. He chuckled, only making his grasp tighter. "Please let go. You're hurting me," I whined. He stared into my eyes for a moment before throwing my hands against the wall. I didn't know what to expect next. He would occasionally come home drunk and start an argument, but he never did anything like this. For the first time in my life, I was afraid of him. He must have suddenly realized what he was doing. "Babe i'm so sorry," he apologized before trying to hug me. I flinched at his actions. I quickly pushed him away and ran towards the door. Once I was outside, I ran away towards my house. Even though I knew he wasn't following me, out of sheer fear, I still ran.
