She meets new people and realizes that the publishing world and the City aren't for everyone. Maybe not even her.

"What do you want?" I ask, cautious.

He's still smirking. "Are you... jealous?"

The laughter peals from within me, unable to remain kept in. "Jealous!? Please! I am not even the slightest of attracted to you."

Mr. Fancy British Man smirks again and leans in very close to me. I feel my eyes involuntarily take in his handsome features: the sun kissed skin, the line of stubble, the smirking lips, the pair of dimples, the light brown hair, and finally, the hazel eyes. It would be ten times easier to resist him if he was physically unattractive.

"Still not attracted to me?" He growls sexily, his breath fresh and warm on my face.

I stare him back. "Not. At. All."

The burden of the secrets becomes heavy, and Lillian doesn't know what to do with them anymore. ~•~•~•~•~•~ "What's your name?" "Lillian... Lillian Smith." "Okay, Lillian, so this is what going to happen next." He crossed his arms. "I'm going to let you go and you-" he held his finger at me, "- will tell no one about this." I bobbed my head. "And if I hear even a single word uttering from your mouth about us..." He gestured between him and Toby. "I will-" "- Kill you." I finished for him and give him a thumbs up. "Got it." "Then it's settled!" Toby announced, clasping his hands and beamed. Book #1 in the 'Roundabout Series' Twitterpated (adj.) excited or overcome with romantic feelings ;smitten ; love-struck _______________ "You okay? Your face is all red" Aiden stepped closer, concern swirling in that low lidded emerald gaze of his. Matias' heart rate increased at their proximity. He averted his gaze once more, suddenly not having the courage to look the beautiful brunette in the eyes as he stumbled over his words "mm? Yeah you're just hot, shit I mean I'm just hot. Yeah, I'm just getting hot" he clenched his eyes shut, placing a hand over his face as if that would save him from the embarrassment he was currently facing, aka, himself. When he spoke again, his voice was so soft, it may as well have been considered a whisper "it's just hot in here is all" _______________
