Ian Wyatt was a hunter, not a hunter like deer hunting, like actual Paranormal stuff, ghosts demons, witches Vampires.. He quit hunting when his wife was killed by a demon. One of his 'hunting buddy's' John Winchester had 2 boys, the oldest one being the same age as Ian's daughter, Jennifer. After his wife died Ian swore he had given up hunting for good, but when Jennifer found out what he did, she began to hunt as well.
