Finwell Felidae, one of the last of the anthrofels left, has helped Cain with his rise to power, and has done a great job of it thus far. However, instead of thanking him, Cain has made Finwell swear his undying loyalty to his leadership. As the anthrofel begins to notice that Cain has drastically changed from when he first met him, he begins to trust him less and less. In the process, Finwell has to gather recruits for his guild, so he chooses two rebellious UnderRealm folk to aid him.
He needs to trust his new Quest Guild more than he trusts the cruel tyrant that has taken over the dark and mysterious Cain Noire that he once knew. With the help of a former Harpy spy and messenger for Cain, a sassy capala teenager that aids them, and a fresh, prison escapee naga, Finwell slowly beings to realize what needs to be done and that this man needs to be stopped before conditions in the UnderRealm worsen.
