Lily and her brother Jonah had been keeping a secret from the world. For a while, they thought everyone believed that they were normal 17-year-olds. Until Jonah disappeared, most likely dead. forced to face her reality: the government knew about her and wanted her dead.
In comes Damien Grey. His cocky smile and quick comments piss Lily off from the very beginning. Despite him being a royal pain in the ass, she develops feelings for him that she can't explain. But she needs him and his oddly accurate information on people like her, and the government division set on killing them.
Damien Grey meets Lily at her twin brother's Wake. She's stubborn, sarcastic, and tends to be reckless enough to both scare the hell out of Damien and drive him crazy. Telling himself he doesn't have feelings for the tiny, annoying girl with sea green eyes doesn't seem to be working for him. All he knows is that, despite the fact that he promised himself NEVER to get involved, he has to help Lily get her brother back. Even if it kills him.
