Chattering Canyons is the prologue to my debut, award-winning, visionary novel, Trusting the Currents.

I never expected to be a writer. One day, I began hearing the whispers of Addie Mae Aubrey, a Southern, African-American woman, asking that I tell her story. She took me on a journey that transformed everything I became and led to my spiritual awakening. Trusting the Currents is the story she told me. Through words and resonance, it guides readers into their own truth and transformation.

Trusting the Currents has won six literary awards, including the 2014 Nautilus Gold Award in Fiction, 2015 IPPY Gold Medal in Visionary Fiction, 2015 National Indie Excellence Gold Medal in Visionary Fiction, and the 2015 International Book Awards Gold Medal in Visionary Fiction. It also won as a Finalist in the 2015 Next Generation Indie Book Awards in Inspirational Fiction and Honorable Mention in Spirituality at the 2015 Los Angeles Book Festival.

Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?

**3RD PLACE WINNER OF THE 2017 CRAYON AWARDS** Third place winner of the 2017 Lilac Awards From the beginning, I knew what I was in for. I knew that this scenario would end one way or another. I wasn't stupid. Nobody put a gun to my head and forced me to play this game of cat-and-mouse. But I will say, I never pictured that this would occur. I stood there, my brother's silver Smith and Wesson in my hands, directing it at my deadly target. My eyes bore into his, his indicating no sign of emotion, while mine were filled with horror. "It's you," I said, my voice unsteady. He took another step closer to me, his hands in the pockets of his trench coat. A malicious grin formed upon his face. His signature expression. "Surprise," he replied before sauntering forward to finish what he started six months ago. ♠♠♠ Six months after Skyler Williamson is abducted and tortured in the woods by a serial killer, she deals with the repercussions of her unfortunate ordeal. Crippling anxiety, the results of unknown misfortunes, bubble up to the surface and rest in the foreground of her mind. And Skyler's prescribed medication can only help to a certain extent. Repressed memories of the past collide with the present, causing Skyler to be unable to distinguish what is real and what is not. When two teenage girls turn up dead, Skyler finds it is up to her to catch the man who's behind all of this... Even if this means trading her own life for the answers she so desperately needs. © The_RebelAngel 2016 STARTED: 01/01/2016 ENDED: 06/21/2017 Cover created by @The_RebelAngel on Canva

"They took my sister. Now I'm taking her back." Seventeen years ago, humans started developing supernatural abilities. Comic books came true as the first person flew, created fire, mind-read. The world entered a new age where people who could do special things were revered and admired. That all changed when one man lost control of his power and unleashed a huge explosion in a crowded shopping centre, killing over a thousand others. A series of fights involving superhumans broke out, resulting in the destruction of multiple cities and hundreds upon hundreds of further lives lost. The government began hunting down those extraordinary people with the assistance of a specialised unit: trained in recognising different abilities. Suddenly powers became something scary, uncontrollable and dangerous, that nobody wanted to own up to having. Seventeen years after the Explosion, Amelie Rose Carmichael is the daughter of the man who is in charge of hunting down and imprisoning these people. She enjoys a comfortable life, protected from any threats against her. But when Amelie develops an ability without warning, she must try to keep it hidden from her family, her friends, and above all her father. Can she keep a secret? Will she use her powers to help the rebel organisation that has approached her? And what secrets are the people around her hiding? "I'm assuming that little speech was meant for me?" "It was meant for everyone." "But mostly me. Is it because I called her selfish earlier? Are you still hung up on that?" "I'm not hung up on anything, Gemma." "Then why would you go up there and say that?" I demand, my voice rising above a whisper. "Of all days, why would you choose today to publicly humiliate me?" "Today isn't about you, Gemma," Bowie says, catching me by surprise. "Today is about Raelyn, and the fact that we all failed her." ----------- 𝕲𝖊𝖒𝖒𝖆 𝕭𝖊𝖆𝖚𝖋𝖔𝖗𝖙's life is turned upside down the day she gets the call that her best friend, Raelyn, took her own life.
