I woke up in a dark room, no windows. It was just light enough to see what was around me. A large table was next to me with all sorts of scary looking contraptions and tools. Where am I? As I look around more I am starting to freak out. I start hyperventilating when I see a mirror wall and I feel someone watching me from the other side. I can't move. I'm tied to the table by my hands, feet, and waist. How did this happen? Am I dreaming? Is this real? Where am I? Questions are flooding my mind. 
I hear someone walking towards me. I am laying down on a very uncomfortable table. 
"Finally the sedatives wore off." I hear a familiar voice say...
I am stricken with fear and don't dare to say anything. 
"Do you know where you are?" He asks
"Um n-no" I mumble 
"You are at my laboratory" he says in a deep voice.
Where have I heard that voice before?

Hello, I want to first thank you for taking the time to read my proposal, as I know that there are many others you must work through who have done the same as I; please, trust me when I say that your attention is greatly appreciated. I am messaging you today because I wish to submit a selection of excerpts taken from the series of science fiction/science fantasy stories I have written; called Psychic the Saga. I'm a former United States Marine, and a currently enrolled Aerospace Engineering undergrad at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Over the course of the last eight years, during which the earlier stated experiences have occurred in my adult life, I have continually written the story I am now presenting for your consideration. Outside of writing as a hobby, and what was needed when submitting assignments, my only writing credential is a published engineering research paper in the European Physical Letters: 'Tailorable Twisting of Biomimetic Scale-Covered Substrate'; of which, my main contributions were that of the experimentation, and the editing/proofreading of the paper. In regards to my submission, the story of Psychic follows our trio and the rest of their friends as they fight for peace and stability within the newly unveiled realm of psychics, once hidden amongst the world for untold millennia. The statistics of Book One are as follows: word count = ~205279, page count = ~396, target audience = young/new adult (16~34 yr. of age). The reasoning behind this age range is two-fold: the concepts, morals and lessons, themes, and situations/ problems faced by the main characters are both relatable and beneficial for this age group; also yes, there is foul language, and yes there are very visceral depictions of violence. Also also (lol), I wish to give a disclaimer in terms of any romance, love, or anything else similar; I intentionally never take the story beyond anything more intimate than a kiss. So there. It was dark and I was all alone I couldn't see anything, not even my hands in front of me. I felt all sick like I had a cold. " Where am I ? " I asked. " Your in your my mind ? " a voice replied. It sounded like we were in a cave. " What do you mean I'm in your mind ? " I asked again. " We are telepathically linked now, you can't run from me anymore, " replied the person " Just stop messing with me and tell me who you are and where am I, " I Sid. I started to get really eritated. And what did the person mean by you can't run from me anymore. Who was it that I was running from. Then I started to get a little dizzy and my through started to burn. Then all of a sudden I felt a sharp pain in my chest. I woke up. I was in a white room with like 1,000,000 bright light on me. It hurt a lot. There were cords tied up to me and I didn't know where I was.

BOOK ONE: Having enough courage to run through the woods and away from the people who convinced me they were saving me was not how I believed I'd spend my day. Yet, there I went escaping from the only place I knew existed in the world. Being held captive was too much for me, especially when these people wouldn't tell me who they were or even who I was. The first moment in my life I recall very clearly. I awoke in a dark room, with recollection of everything that happened in the world except for one thing. I had no memory of myself existing, I didn't know where I was or why these men kept me from leaving. Days after I first woke I asked plenty of questions, and yet none of them were answered. The only thing I learned was that I was not allowed outside because the woods heald the most powerful magic on the planet, the most dangerous magic. It was more than just bad men and curiosity about the forest that got me to leave, it was a pull towards something; towards magic. Once I was in the forest turning back was never an option, so I put it in my head that I'd keep walking until I found a civilization or a nice paved road that would lead to safety. But that never happened because the forest has a force living through it. Believing that the forest held something strange was the easy part but experiencing it myself was something totally different. I didn't expect anything normal but I didn't expect to be completly engulfed into the forest. I was led by an unknown presence that made me truly believe it was a living being, and in fact it is. I was innocent then, but now I know that anything can be hidden under a small platform in the woods with a secret bigger than the world itself. I was given life that day, until it all ended months later; the day I took my last breath.

Yet, despite it all, a flicker of determination burned in my eyes-a resolve born out of love and loyalty. What I want is to be respected by the clan and my king, but to be so I have to face my battles. Black fills my vision as I try to move forward. My legs feel limp and heavy, each step growing harder than the last. My arms stay glued to my body. I try to rip them off of myself but they don't budge. The hard floor pulsed like a heartbeat beneath my feet. A silhouette moves at the end of the tunnel and I squint my eyes, trying to figure out what is going on. As I go to take an other step, my leg doesn't move. I look down at the concrete floor in confusion. The grounds seems so far away and out of reach. Feeling dizzy, I look back up and the tunnel i'm currently standing is so long and dark. So dark and only a small pinpoint light illuminates the room. I can't quite figure out where it's coming from or how it's there, considering there's no door. Or anything at all.

We held our breath as we heard footsteps enter the dark room. My heart raced and I covered my mouth to keep from screaming as tears ran down my cheeks. Caleb sat next to me, with obvious fear in his eyes. I knew that the desk couldn't hide us for much longer and that's what scared me the most. The footsteps came closer and they grew louder by the second. I held my breath once I heard the man's footsteps stop. Caleb and I exchanged looks as we sat frozen under the desk. I looked up, trying to listen to the man's actions. Then a gloved hand grabbed the edge of the desk and the man's bloody mask appeared in front of me. He stared at us and chuckled, "Found you." · · · Seven classmates find themselves in detention from breaking the rules at their school. This, of course, isn't their first time in detention but something seemed different. The teacher leaves to do something leaving the kids completely unsupervised which was kind of weird. He usually left some goody two shoes to watch them but this time there was no one except them. Creepy things begin to happen and they find themselves locked in the school. What was this? Time is ticking as they try to find their way out before they end up lying in a puddle of their own blood.
