Gabi had a stable, promising government job in Brazil, but that wasn’t the life she wanted. She fell in love with Tony and the idea of living in New York with him, but what followed was a broken relationship with her father and years of guilt and disappointment. Gabi welcomes her husband’s sudden expatriation to Brussels as yet another attempt to find herself and feel at home. Home is who you are is the story of those who leave their lives behind in order to start a new one with their partners. It’s about the loss of everything familiar, everything that gives you a sense of identity. It is also about the fear of turning thirty and not having everything figured out yet.

It's grief, remnants of an innocent life that now exists as a colorful memory. Two separate families, & one child in the middle of it all. Pain & prejudice, what it takes to build true body armor. Mind games & psychology; with great power comes great deceptions. Is it a love story? A trip down memory lane? Or are we pulling a Taylor Swift & putting all of our exes on blast? Okay, so the hero is the villain & then back to a hero? Were they even a hero to begin with, or just an insatiable dreamer? Grow & break, & grow again. Only I can mend all of the choices he has made, it's my responsibility now. I killed him, & my life takes over where he left off. Lol, so fucking dramatic. This book is probably the most Gen Z thing you'll ever read. But it's all true, the walls are being torn down, & no longer am I going to hide. The most vulnerable I'll ever be. To my family, friends, old & new, & all other loved ones & people mentioned, forgive me. I'm finally letting go.
