The kingdom of Barandia has been taken over by foreign enemies. King Thaddeus and Queen Jessabelle die in an attempt to protect their kingdom and their eldest son, Prince Ivan, the crown prince and heir to the throne. In the dark of the night, as the enemy army approaches, a nursemaid takes the young prince from the palace and escapes into the night.
Across the kingdom, a young girl with hair the color of fresh blood wakes from a terrible nightmare, depicting the events taking place in Kingstown, hundreds of miles away. The young girl, MaryAnn is a Seer, but more special than just any Seer. She has powers she doesn't know, powers she's still developing. And her fate is bound to that of the prince.
Upon meeting in the Outlands, the fringes of the Western side of Barandia, it is decided that MaryAnn will go with Prince Ivan and a handful of others, to the mountains of the Boarderlands to the far north. It is said that Dragon Keepers still live there, and Prince Ivan has Dragonsfire in his blood. They must find the Dragon Keepers, resurrect the race of Dragon Riders, and take back the kingdom that rightfully belongs to them.

"Upstairs!" I hear a yell and pounding footsteps. I crawl out of the window until I'm hanging from my hands. I take a breath. I let go. ~ Living in a small town with a single mother, Mia Glenn never expected anything special to come of her life. She never thought she would go on an adventure as harrowing as the stories she read. Until one day she narrowly avoids being kidnapped, discovering in the same day a whole new universe that she is supposedly a part of. As she navigates the elven world of Earthe with the help of a particularly attractive elf boy, she learns secrets about her identity and her father's, of whom she believed had ditched her and her mom at an early age. Soon Mia discovers that peace isn't as easy as it seems, and while Earthe may be beautiful, there are dark parts that are creeping back to the light. Even in a world of perfect beings such as elves, lies can be spun as precisely as an arrow can pierce a target, and evil can sneak up on you when you least expect it. Mia is used to reading about this kind of stuff, not living it. Safe to say she finds herself in one hell of an adventure. - - TW: if you need a tw for fighting, violence, weapons, blood, death, etc. I would read with caution (I don't get into any gory details, but there are scenes w/ this) I will put tw's for the more violent scenes.Complete

Note: I am trying to avoid most pitfalls that seems to be in every fantasy story lately and make it more relatable to the reader when able. Some pitfalls may be unavoidable though. Also, I only use AI for editing, art and world building assistance. The eventual goal is to hire an actual editor and artist to eliminate it entirely. That being said I don't have any issues with anybody using AI as long as they don't ghostwrite with it. And frankly, Gwyneth and Azriel could both use a little magic. All characters owned by SJM in the ACOTAR series. Story takes place after the events of ACOSF. Aligns with the events in my other fic: A Storm of Flames and Deceit. I haven't finished Crescent City, so this story takes place outside of the events of those books as well.
