Months after Fairy Tail reunited and defeated the 12 shields of Spirang, Natsu grows more curious about these markings that had been appearing during the one year training after the defeat of Tartaros. During Fairy Tails battle with the 12 shields of Spirang, Natsu discovered that the markings on his arm, made him stronger just like Fairy Glitter, but much more stronger...More markings began appearing and Natsu starts getting driven into the darkness within the markings, ending up almost losing someone's life, Lucy.

He stood there for a few seconds, then his expression turned evil. He started running towards Lucy with incredible speed. Gray noticed this and right when he was about to hit her, Gray stepped in front taking the hit. Lucy rushed towards gray and kneeled beside him. He managed to let out a few words before loosing conciseness. "Your the only.... One... Who can save him." Tears were falling from her eyes. She nodded and stood up. "Natsu, I will save you."
