In the year 1837, there was a little known-of accident deep in the Swiss Alps. After that day, a father became childless, a man became immortal, and a human became an empty shell of what he had been. All he had left in life was the only remaining piece of his son: his pouch of marbles. At first, these were an innocent keepsake, but as he soon discovered, their spiritual power surpassed anything mortal... On the other hand, Amalia Veil was a 17 year old girl who was only trying to make it through high school. Born with what could be described as a superpower or an annoyance, she was not quite having the typical teenage experience. (Always needing to wear fireproof gloves really puts a damper on your social life.) So, when this bewildering man found the struggling girl, she got swept up into an incredible, heartbreaking, yet unforgettable adventure.
