Abby lays across her bed. Next Friday is prom, and I don't have a date. She thinks to herself. She props herself up on her elbows. "Mom!" She yells for her mom to come up stairs to her. Abby had pale green eyes, long blonde hair, and was skinny but not too skinny. "What is it pumkin?" Her mom asks. Abby puts the palms of her hands on her eyes to cover up the tears. "Mom, am I ugly?" She asks. Her mom frowns. "What? No who said that?" She asks. "Me mom. Next Friday is prom, and I'm still single. " Abby wipes the tears from her eyes. Her mom wraps her arms around her. "You'll get one before than. I promise." Her mom gets up and exits the room. I knew she wouldn't help. She never helps. She wouldn't help if I was stranded in the middle of an ocean. I roll over and slowly fall asleep. I awake to loud noises and the smell of freshly cooked bacon, eggs and blueberry muffins. I walk down stairs to find my mom, dad and Channing Tatum sitting at the kitchen table.
