Eli Edwards was an average sixteen year old. He wasn't strong, or incredibly smart and he got picked on at school. Until one day, he suffered fatal injuries. NewLife© did an experiment trying to create superhumans. From that day forward, Eli Edwards was no longer that unassuming guy that everyone picked on. He is The Night Owl.

Life in New York City wasn't easy, but for Y/n L/n, it was manageable. As a Senior at Midtown High, Y/n prided himself on being a quiet observer, blending into the background while secretly dreaming of being something greater. In a world filled with extraordinary heroes, he was content to admire them from afar, believing their world was beyond his reach. Everything changed on a seemingly ordinary school day. As he walked through Midtown High's halls, flashes of glowing light appeared in the corner of his vision-illusions that no one else seemed to notice. He began to feel a hum beneath his skin when he passed certain places, like the energy of the world was alive and responding to him. Books flipped open on their own, lightbulbs flickered as he passed, and faint glyphs glowed on surfaces where he lingered too long. It was as if reality itself was bending to his presence, but he had no idea why.
