After he had soley survived a massacre that occurred when he was in elementary school in Lumiose City in which a group of radicalized religious fanatics called the Order of Christ and Allah, or the OCA, had sent someone to kill everyone in the school due to it being a Bring a Pokémon to School Day, Stan made a vow to stop them in whatever way he could. As such, he had joined the Armed Forces to hunt down the terrorists, and make them face justice.
