IIT-JEE is considered one of the difficult examinations in the world. Only a small fraction of candidates succeeds out of the number of candidates appearing in this exam. The worst part is that hundreds of thousands of students who have been consistently scoring above 90% marks fail to score even 50% in this examination.  Toppers generally reach close to 90%. Then, what is wrong with the mass of the brilliant students? Here are common mistakes IIT aspirants make:
Not making Personal Preparation Plan: IIT-JEE questions test the concepts and application capabilities of the student. A student may not be able to score from many topics of the syllabus but still can qualify with good rank.  Hence, it is important to decide the level of effort required on various topics by aligning it with your interest and strength. Not having a Personal Preparation Plan and taking such examinations following a generic preparation pattern often result is a common mistake.
