I was running through the woods, dark clouds overlooking me. Tree limbs smacking me in the face as I ran. Scratching me and leaving bloody marks. I kept looking behind me feeling the fear of the thing running after me in the forest. I felt the thing suddenly pick up pace. I couldn't seem to see the thing from my naked eye, but I could feel it like a cold and fresh breeze. It was a weird feeling, nothing I've felt before.
Dread took over me as I felt coldness behind me, right then and there I knew it had me.

Prologue I used to have a nightmare when I was younger. It was always the same order and the same impact. It started with the warmth of sand consuming my feet. I looked up to see a warzone. There were flashes of fire, water, and lightning. It was like a war of the gods. Suddenly I felt the heat on my back. I turned to see neon red and yellow flames consume me. I ran to hide in the bushes that were next to me, feeling out of breath I tried to calm myself down. Strands of dark red hair covered my face. I proceeded to swipe my hair and look at my surroundings. I heard sobbing coming from near me. I trudged through the bushes and toward the sobbing when I got to under a willow tree. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked. I saw a girl with long dark red hair being the cause of the sobbing. She had a huge gash on her forehead with blood trailing down her face. She also had burns on her arms and shirt. The boy was in much worse condition. He was covered in burns, she was covering his face with only his hair showing. They both had the same colored hair. Suddenly my necklace started to glow with an amber color. The girl in front of me had a similar amber glow. Two amber crowns sat on top of the pillow. One female and one male crown sat on top of the pillow. Once I walked closer the glow came back. Once I grabbed the tiara everything became white. I was once again in another room, I attempted to move but I mysteriously couldn't. A neon purple bolt of lightning hit my chest. We both locked eyes with each other. Was that me? Before I could find out, the ground started to be drained into a whole. I was sucked into the drain and everything soon became black and I was free-falling. My back soon hit the ground of the room. I rose to look at the surroundings of the new room I was in. I fell to my knees from the pain. My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out.
