Charlie Somer doesn't have the normal story you might expect. She pushes people away, never letting anyone become close to her. People eventually get the idea, and drift apart from her. What was once everybody's 'Golden Girl' is now the bottom of the high school food chain. She decided that she would rather go through life alone than getting her heart broken again. Her heart wasn't broken by a love interest. Her heart was ripped out of her body when her entire family was killed in a car accident, leaving her stranded and blind. As she is reeling from their deaths, she must also uproot and leave her home, readjusting to life without sight as well. Moving on is hard even without Charlie's reasons, but when people at her new school begin to ask her questions about her old life, she can't seem to let anyone in. She succeeds for the most part with her new plan of staying away from anyone, with the exception of Gabriel "Gage" Paxton. Gage feels the immediate pull towards the new girl. Her unseeing eyes are filled with much hidden sadness, the kind of sadness only seen by others with the same pain. Gage knows what its like to feel so completely alone, but has no idea how hard it must have been for Charlie. Not only is she alone, but she's also blind. The pain she tries so hard to hide can't be hidden from him, and so he seeks out trying to make this girl smile. Although Charlie feels not quite so alone when she's with Gage, she can't let herself feel comforted by him. Because of her, the Somer family is gone. She will no longer hear their laughs or their voices. She will no longer see their smiles. She will no longer see anything at all. She still blames herself for the deaths of her family, but Gage is attempting at bringing the Golden Girl back. Will she let anyone else in? Or will she continue to suffer at the hands of fate?

-Completed- Why does a story have to be about a bad boy and good girl? Why does the guy always have to be bad? Why can't the story be about the good guy and the good girl? Skylar Greene isn't someone you would consider popular. In her free time she would rather spend her time in her room reading a Nicholas Sparks book, sleeping, watch re-runs of old tv shows, listening to Ed Sheeran or fangirling over superheros. She is awkward, lacking social skills, and is shy at times but rambles when she's nervous. She is so clumsy she is literally falling through life. Noah Miller is someone you would definitely consider popular. He has the looks and is the best football player on the schools team. He isn't your typical popular guy who is rude to people who aren't popular. He is actually extremely nice to everyone which is why everyone loves him. He loves meeting knew people and having fun. When Skylar and Noah meet in the nurses office one day, everything changes. Noah takes interest in her and drags the socially awkward girl to parties, football games, and even gets them in trouble with the cops. But he's only trying to show her a good time. Soon enough Skylar finds herself falling for this guy. They start telling each other things they never told anyone before. Skylar actually thinks he likes her back and it can work out. It's been five years since Kai's life was completely turned upside down, but he is extremely grateful for the things that have happened. The deaths not included, things have changed for the better. Kai feels that if those men and Thorn hadn't showed up at his home, Abby wouldn't be his girlfriend, Chase wouldn't be his best friend, Shintaro wouldn't be an amazing "therapist" (as Chase calls it) to Kai, Linda wouldn't be like a mother to him, Gabriel wouldn't be the funny-in-his-own-antisocial-way friend (he had his own home in the town, so he often visited), and Kai wouldn't be as close to his father has he is now. Kai is actually enjoying his new life in this strange town. The village is "ruled" by a young woman named Ruby, and everyone there adores her for being such a great leader. Kai has only met her once or twice, but she seems very nice. But there is something prickling at the back of Kai's mind, and it unsettles him greatly. Ever since Moon vanished after killing Luke, she hasn't been spotted anywhere. Kai often wonders if she is somewhere far from where they are now, planning her next attack. When a series of strange events start happening around the town, Kai is certain that Moon is back and playing her game with them. In a way, he is right. But there are many things that he is also wrong about. During the midst of it all, Shintaro gets captured, sending Kai down a path of despair and hopelessness. He feels responsible for getting Shintaro back, but he doesn't know what he's up against. Thankfully, his friends don't let him do it by himself. As always, they have his back. And soon, new friends are there behind him, too. The group finds that Moon is behind all of this, but she isn't doing it for herself. She has Shintaro for a certain reason, and the friends are soon to find out what is at stake. The lives of others, including loved ones.
