"Amiri get your ass in here and clean up this living room" my mom Angela said. I got out of bed as fast I could knowing she would beat me if I didn't.

"Yes m'am." I said just loud enough for her to hear me. I walked in the living room and before I could start cleaning she grabbed me by my hair and threw me to the ground. I tried to stand up but she punched me in my jaw.

" You worthless piece of shit. I should have aborted you when I had the chance." She yelled in my face. Those words don't hurt anymore. She's been saying that every since my dad left us 10 years ago when I was 7. She's still not over it but I am. He just disappeared and no one knows why. I was knocked out of my thoughts when I was kicked in the stomach. I curled up in pain.
