Dan lies a lot. He lies about what he does when he goes out at night, he lies about his strange behavior, and he lies about the knife under his pillow. It's not like he's gonna tell the truth about that stuff, he would be thrown in a mental hospital. And I mean, after all, he is just doing what the voices are telling him to do.
