Deep down in the ocean lives a species that before could only be fathomed as mythological. Merpeople roam free and at peace but there are those few spirited souls who wish for more, to experience the forbidden land above.
Evangeline Warren is the daughter of the King of the Atlantic Ocean. By definition she has everything anyone could ever want, except for the one thing she has fantasized about since she was younger: to experience life on land.
She settles for observing them from afar but when her father makes an arrangement that she can't bear to obey she finds herself, for the first time, desperate to leave her world and join the one she has longed to be a part of. In despair and wishing to escape she crosses paths with a witch who promises Evangeline a life above water but at a price she won't know until the time comes.
With her hearts desire at arms length she is torn between being a dutiful daughter and going after the one thing she has only ever dreamed of, something she thought was impossible...until now.
