Dan is a tearaway. Taken into care aged four, adopted, but his new home is not what it's cracked up to be. Abused and alone, Dan escapes, and after a series of foster homes, nobody can get through to him.
After an encounter with London street gang the Vipers on his way home, the boys meet. You'd expect Phil to run a mile, but he sees something in Dan nobody else can. They begin to meet more and more frequently. But can Dan keep the promises he makes? Will Phil be safe?
