After hearing of her mother's car accident, Willow's life falls apart. She has to watch her mother's casket be lowered into the ground and then watch her father shut out the world from himself. Also having to deal with the constant struggles of being a high school student, she has to deal with people who don't get their way. With her father out of the picture, she turns to the only other people on the planet that care for her as much as her parents did. With the help of his parents, Elijah Reed keeps Willow's mother's memory alive by telling Willow about her mother and father's love story. Not only to help her move on but to help her realize that love comes in the most unexpected places. That place is waiting right in front of her. Elijah Reed watched the person that he loved, which just happens to be his best friend, crumble before his eyes. He watched the person that was the happiest, brightest person become someone who asked why they weren't the one who died that day. Maybe one day, he will be the one who saves her from herself. Maybe one day, she will love him as he loves her. Maybe one day, he will watch the light come back into Willow's eyes. Maybe just maybe... "Everyone has to fight their demons but they can't always do it alone." "Sometimes love comes in unexpected places, but I found mine with him." "I will always love you, even if you aren't here." // Watty's 2019 Submission COMING SOON TO PAPERBACK/EBOOK NOTE: Mentions of suicide. A Day in May

8 parts Complete

"And it only took a day. Just one simple day for me to realise that people aren't who they seem. They're not always who they say they are, and although in some forms it's awful, sometimes it can be beautiful too. This person beside me hid their life away so they could have a better one, for himself and his mother, and I truly don't think his sacrifices have been duly noted. Because he's a good person; a beautiful one. It took a day for me to fall for the quiet boy in my English class. The boy with a hidden arrogance and a talent for acting. The boy who has black hair and blue eyes, which fall slightly darker as he gets more tired. Eyes which right now are trained on me." Willow Ford is a sarcastic, snarky, almost-seventeen year old, with a slight attitude problem. Leo Blakely is quiet, refined, and lives a life full of secrets. And when the two clash during an accidental lock-in at their high school, it's funny how much can happen in just one day.
