Alexandria 'Lexi' Campbell's whole life changed in the blink of an eye. After her dad died of cancer seven months ago, her mother shut herself away from the world, her brother is dealing with his first teenage problems.
When her mother gets a job offer far away from their hometown in Orlando, Florida, she jumps at the chance and Lexi and her brother Liam are dragged out to an island just off the coast to live in Shade Valley.
Here, she meets Hay, Keeno, Zayne, Jay-Jay, G and Olly. They call themselves the Kids in the Street. She also awakens a dangerous fued between an irritating biker called Tyler -- the school's bad boy -- and the Kids.
With a new start in a new town, Lexi decides to change her look and attitude with the help of the new crazy people she meets. She learns valuble lessons about life, love, friends and family.
