Fabian, Ruby and Heidi are on a quest. A quest to save everything they know, love - and hate - in the city of Garnetia. 'I am no more guilty than you. The children of the city have all fled. Hope for the city shall be lost if the children do not return. The adults of this land have been cursed by a Raven Witch - do not shreak, do not speak, just listen to me - the souls of those over the age of seventeen have been torn from us... Seventeen year-old Kiera is half-Rae, half-witch and was raised in isolation in the forests because her father was banished from the Rae and her mother feared by humans. She spends her days in a world of magic, at one with everything around her. With her parents both dead, she is very alone and wishes she could at least meet her half-brother. However, he is Rae and she has no hopes of ever doing so. Other than that one wish, she is very content with her life as it is. Unfortunately, her peaceful existence is shattered when a spell of prophecy shows her that an alien threat is heading for Earth. The rulers of the Rae are shown the same visions, visions which indicate that Kiera is the only one who can save them all. Although she resents their part in her father's banishment, she knows she has no real choice but to answer their summons and provide what aid she can. Her bigger problem is figuring out exactly what to do next, since neither her visions nor theirs were clear on that.
