She awakens.. naked.. afraid.. confused.. within a large transparent pod.. She feels cold.. shivering and wet as the cryogenic sleep wears off..

"K-Kirito?.... S-Sinon..? A-Asuna...? Touma!?" She calls out the names of her friends one by one.. hitting the inside of the pod with her fists. "Anybody!?"

She then notices something strange around her neck.. small. not a collar.. as it goes around the back of her neck, not completely around.. using her reflection in the pod.. she reads the brand name..

"Neuro Linker.."

She pushes open the door of the pod.. and falls into a desolate looking abandoned lab.. where is she? Or perhaps a  more accurate question should be... WHEN is she?All Rights Reserved

I found a medow of flowers near a river and decided to lay down watching the clouds, they look so real, they are real. At least to me, this all feels so real. "You did it dad. You've totally made me forget about my life outside this game, how you destroyed so many peoples lives. You happy now?" I say to myself i take my eyepatch off and just enjoy this moment. A smile crept into my face. The sky is blue sun shining. It's beautiful. "Akane Kayaba." Once someone says my name i freeze. How does anyone know that name. I instantly stand up and grab my sword turn around and take a stance. but i stand down once i see his face. "Kirito." i say. He gave me a small smile. "Who is Akane?" I ask trying to play dumb. "Xena, I know who you are. I thought from day one that i knew who you were but then i couldn't remember where I seen you. But i remember the second i herd the Pink Shadow took out the boss on 32nd floor. You're Akihiko Kayabas daughter." I just fall to my knees and begin to cry. I've hid this for so long and tried to forget about my being his daughter. •I'm a crappy writer so this story might not be that good. This is a retelling of the "Fairy Dance Arc" from "Sword Art Online." Since the "Sword Art Online Progressive" movie is dropping this year, I thought it was perfect timing to write my own version of this arc with my own twist on it. The story focuses on Kirito waking up after beating the death game of "Sword Art Online" and learning that Asuna isn't awake, yet. Not being able to handle the guilt, he loses all of the swagger and confidence that he once had in the original game. Kirito learns that Asuna is in a different VR world and with the help of his friends and sister, he must save Asuna from a threat unlike anything that he faced in the original "Sword Art Online." Kirito is assaulted by a former member of Laughing Coffin who took part in the Death Gun incident. In a heated moment, Mikoto jumps in front of Kirito.. taking a needle full of drugs to the chest.. in a frantic attempt to save her, both Kazuto and Shino end up drugged as well.. and Asuna is left frantically calling paramedics as her 3 friends begin to slowly slip away.. A whole new world is then opened up.. a new virtual world.. known as the Underworld..
