Ella (Debby Ryan) grew up being sheltered from any thing that might cause her to wind up like her mother and father. She worked hard in school and never did any thing that may jeopardize her future. High school was finally ending and Ella had her whole college experience and future career planned out, but plans soon change when Ella is asked to accompany her best friend, Selena (Sasha Pieterse) on a trip heading to both the East Coast and West Coast. Ella is forced to make a decision that could either end up being the time of her life, or a trip from hell. Little does Ella know when she agrees to attend, who will be accompanying her on this trip and just how important those people will become.
