In Prydain, a nation consisting of Five Great Cities, Magic is a common sight. In past generations, magic was arguably the cornerstone of Prydain government. In fact, one might say that magic is the reason for the nation's being founded.
In more recent years, however, technology has all but replaced magic; steam-powered trains, artificial electricity, and modern weapons have become the norm. Magic is still present in Prydain, though, and its elite knights, the Spellswords, still have a presence of authority.
In this world, a young professor at Prydain's Academy of Magic has found his place teaching students barely younger than himself, appearing to be little more than a glorified upperclassman.
Behind the scenes, a new force has been rising in the shadows; the Mage War has been fought between the Five Families in secret for over a hundred years, and the young Professor has more than a few secrets buried away concerning his past.
