Meet Elle, a quiet yet sassy teenager who is a strawberry liquorice addict and has a therapist who apparently has the hots for her very-single-yet-attractive mother. She is bullied constantly by the mean girls, even whilst being defended by her best friend Charlie.

Of course the best escape to all her problems would be sleep. But when a good-looking stranger has been intruding her dreams since she was five, it seems as if life has not given her a break. And when that stranger arrives at Starling Academy and in most of her classes, introducing himself as Kai, there may be no escape...

Elle, being Elle, is always running away from her problems and never willing to conquer them. Kai, however, is going to change all that, whether she likes it or not.
