War is raging on between England, France and Scotland. The English king Godwine is becoming desperate with troops running out and two countries looking to destroy him. He must create an alliance before he loses his crown. King Godwine calls upon his only heir, princess Christelle. Christelle is a spirited princess, throwing the rules of court out the window when it pleases her; being trapped in the castle with a unloving father who suddenly shows interest in her value to a treaty in a far way land to end the conflict between them, the princess has no other choice to agree to her father's plan to save her country and people. Stéaphan Campbell, junior officer in the Inverness spear militia for Malcolm, King of Scots, has rose through the ranks after the tragic death of his father in battle, his father being a brave soul puts Stéaphan in good graces of the king. When the princess arrives at his door step asking for an alliance with England, he gladly accepts and summons Stéaphan and seventy-five of his troops to escort the princess and her lady in waiting discreetly through the county side. With tensions rising and a war on its way, there is a much to lose. Stéaphan must choose between obeying his king or following his heart. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Upon arriving in the woods, they spot a caravan train, too elegant and grand to be a simple merchant carrying his wares. Through the carriage window appears a beautiful young woman, not much older than Stéaphan himself, he wagers. As he stares, his axe slips from his grip and strikes his foot. He howls in pain, but hides behind a tree as to not attract the attention of the lady in the carriage.
