When your father and stepmother tell you for your sixteenth birthday you get a trip to Greece what would you do? Jump up and down and thank them? Act all cool about, but secretly freak out inside? Or be like me and be really mad at them? I had plans for the summer. I didn’t want to pack up all my things and go to Greece for a whole summer. To make it all worse I’m going alone. I’m only sixteen. I don’t want to go I want to stay here in America with my friends and hang out at the pool. Maybe they want me to get out and find new friends? Or they are just sick of me? Either way this summer is going to suck.
Astra is one of those girls who will block out the world by putting in her earbuds and flipping to a random song. Her father has been teaching her all about astronomy since she could count to ten. He has also taught her everything there is to know about Greek Mythology. It’s almost like a religion. When she goes to Greece for the summer she finds that she wasn’t shipped off because her parents were sick of her, it was because she was part of a prophecy.
She finds her real mom who ends up being Artemis the Greek goddess of the moon and hunting. Astra is thrown into the world of satyrs, mentors, and nymphs. Not only must she full-fill the prophecy, three gods are madly in love with her. Will jealous gods crush her, or will Astra survive and save the world?
