Milo Pierson has had an eventful life, to say the least. Never a dull moment in the life of a masked vigilante after all. But the last five years have been particularly hard on him. What with the whole having amnesia thing, while the rest of the "family" thinks he's dead - but hey, turns out he wasn't dead and his memory's finally starting to come back... But his time away has changed him, a lot...

Milo remembers how he used to be a "Canary" before he was a "Stray". He can't go back to how he was before, but now that he's found home again, is he still stray? It seems Blackpool City has it's fair share of heroes already... Time for a fresh start: a new name, a new look, a new city. But will Ashborne City prove to be too hot for this bird to handle?

Emerson Rogers liked to think of himself as an ordinary teenager. After all, he had no reason to believe otherwise. He went to an upstanding private school with the rest of his friends, was a straight-A student, had no disciplinary issues, and was well-liked according to his classmates and teachers. If anyone were to take a glance at him, they would assume that he was just another carefree rich kid with no problems in his life to worry about. Unless you consider the fact that his evening plans included putting on a blue super suit and speeding through the streets as a crime-fighting superhero. Okay, so maybe his life wasn't as ordinary and carefree as he liked to portray it. With Emerson starting his senior year of high school, things have started to become a bit more tricky than he would've preferred. Defending Jefferson City and maintaining a normal school life as a cover can be hard, but throw in his best friend getting closer to the truth about his alter-ego's identity and a mysterious villain working from the shadows who always seems to be two steps ahead, living a double life is going to be his biggest challenge yet. Especially when new villains start crawling out of the woodwork, thirsty for a fight, and his old villains return stronger, angrier, and looking to settle a score. As Emerson starts to uncover the truth behind where all these villains are coming from, he finds that not everything is what it seems on the surface. And that he and this mysterious villain have a stronger connection than he originally thought.

MASKED: Rise of the New Generation [Book One ReUploaded]

26 parts Complete Mature

*REUPLOADED as the published version of the story* In a world full of super-powered individuals, comic books have become real life. Superheroes and villains have epic battles in the streets, aliens dash through the skies, and everyday people have their daily lives hindered due to collateral damage. That's just the norm that everyone has grown used to. It's a new age of young supers rising to the top, and New Elysium City is the epicenter for this new generation. The paths that they take will carefully carve out the fate of their metropolis they call home. Some may choose to be the very face of good and justice, while others may instead take a darker turn. And the rest? Well, they're perhaps just a bit disgruntled and tired. With a new hero team in the making, they all must overcome their own trials in order to work together successfully. Hopefully, they can do it in time to stop the new wave of villains as crime in New Elysium truly never ceases. But will they be able to properly balance their real lives with their secret identities? Or will the weight of the world come crashing down around them?
